  • What is Part P?

  • Who is Elecsa?
  • Elecsa is a trade association that provides inspection, assessment and certification services to contractors working with electrical installations in private dwellings.
  • Who are Building Control?
  • Building control is your local authority which ensures all building work is carried out to current standards. The Macclesfield area is monitored by East & South Cheshire Building Control Service
  • Do you complete Home Information Packs (HIPs)
  • No. But we can test and inspect a property to produce a Periodic Inspection Report for one of these packs if needed.
  • Do I get a certificate for the work?
  • Any work which is notifiable to building control you will get a certificate from Elecsa, and test results from us.
  • Can you change a mains board. But without testing it?
  • Every time we change a mains board, add or alter a circuit we will test it. This is to ensure it is safe, and will operate the way it is designed to.
  • How much does it cost to swap a mains board?
  • This depends on the size of the installation, and if there are any faults that need to be rectified. We are competitively priced and can give a good idea when we know more.
  • I need a socket or switch moving, will it be easy?
  • Depending on how far, and the materials of the wall, ie, stud, or solid, it may or may not be. Contact us and we can discuss in more detail what you need.
  • Can you install TV, Phone, audio, data or network points
  • Yes we can. We can install points for all of these. However, we cannot install a TV aerial on a rooftop, but we can in the loft.
  • Can you install alarms?
  • Yes we can. We prefer combined infra-red/microwave alarm systems that are less susceptible to nuisance triggering.
  • How can I save money?
  • We have a range of fittings we can install. Depending on what you want there may be a better or cheaper alternative. Tell us exactly what you need, and if there are any plans for future work, as correct and early preparation saves the most.
  • I am interested in using less energy, can you help?
  • Yes. There are many options, we can install low energy flood lights, down lights and other fittings. Install occupancy sensors to switch lights off when not in use. We can change heating controllers for more flexible programming.
  • How can I pay you?
  • We can accept, cheques, cash and payment via bank transfer. eg, online banking.
  • Do I get a receipt/invoice?
  • Yes. We give printed invoices for our work and any certificates due once paid.
